The annual January camp usually features players from Major League Soccer or Scandinavian leagues since they are on break. This year is no exception as 21 players are based in MLS.

Eight players on the roster have not yet earned a cap – Steven Beitashour, Tony Beltran, Matt Besler, Will Bruin, Tally Hall, Connor Lade, Justin Morrow and Alfredo Morales.

The San Jose Earthquakes, Houston Dynamo and Sporting Kansas City each had three players called up. The roster also features plenty of youth with eight players younger than 24.

Brek Shea, Alan Gordon and Chris Pontius were reportedly unavailable due to injuries. As expected, Landon Donovan will not participate in the camp as he is taking time away from soccer while considering his future.

Rob Stone reported on Fox Soccer, where the roster was announced, that Jermaine Jones and Maurice Edu may be called in later.

The U.S. will travel to Honduras on Feb. 6 (4 p.m. ET) for the first match of the final stage of World Cup qualifying. Klinsmann said six to eight players from the January camp could get called up for the Honduras match.

Grant Wahl also reported that Salt Lake   City, Denver and Kansas City are the candidates to host the national team’s first home qualifier on March 22 against Costa   Rica. That decision should be announced this week.
