FC Dallas announced the signing of 27-year-old Brazilian forward Wesley “Pipico” Silva from Vasco da Gama.
“Pipico is a dynamic player who gives us some depth at the forward position and allows us to transition into playing in a 4-4-2 system,” FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman said in a team statement. “He is an intelligent attacking player with solid finishing ability.”
After spending five seasons in the lower divisions in Brazil, Pipico joined Macaé of the first division in 2011 and scored 13 goals in 36 matches. He arrived at Vasco da Gama in 2012 and came off the bench seven times last year but did not score.
The announcement comes a day after the New York Red Bulls confirmed the signing of Juninho from Vasco da Gama. Juninho has reportedly spoken highly of Pipico and publicly called for him to make a move to a larger club when he was in the lower divisions.

Three teams participated in the drawing with the Timbers having an 83.1 percent chance of acquiring Fehr. Seattle and San Jose also entered. The 18-year-old defender/midfielder featured on the Under-17 national team and has been a member of the U-18 and U-20 national team pools.
“Mobi is a young, versatile player with a great deal of ability,” Timbers general manager Gavin Wilkinson said in a team statement. “After having the opportunity to see him in training with the club this past season, we know him to be a quality player and look forward to seeing his continued development.”
